And just like that, it's Christmas again. Our shopping list of gifts may alter from year to year, but one thing never changes – food is always at the heart of our celebrations.
While meat-eaters may feel obliged to serve the traditional centrepiece on Christmas Day, there are no such 'rules' for vegetarians and vegans, and it's a wonderful opportunity to try something new. Rachel Demuth does plant-based Christmas proud this year, with three delicious starters and stunning main courses, served with those all-important trimmings.
Elsewhere, the home cooking legend that is Mary Berry also shares some of her festive favourites and we've got two mouthwatering features devoted to seasonal sweet treats, including special occasion desserts and Christmas baking. Finally, if you've ever been to a party and found the veggie nibbles a bit lacklustre, Chava Eichner has created some tasty appetisers perfect for your own party – or for taking to a gathering.
Christmas is just one day, in theory at least, so we've also got plenty of easy everyday cooking for stress-free weekday meals at this busy time of year, from superfood-packed dishes from Irish chef Donal Skehan to blogger Katy Beskow's brilliantly simple five-ingredient vegan dishes.
