Bite-sized florets of broccoli dipped in chickpea flour batter and deep-fried till golden-brown and crispy!

Ready in 15 minutes! The quickest, easiest and super-delicious bhajiyas that will be a great hit with children as well as every member of your family!


  • 1 cup bite-sized broccoli florets
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon carom seeds
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 cup chickpea flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • Oil for deep-frying
  • Salt to taste


Stage 1

Combine chickpea flour, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilli powder, carom seeds, baking soda in a large bowl. Add 3/4 cup of water or as required to make a thick batter.

Stage 2

Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. The oil should be medium hot to fry perfect bhajiyas. To check, drop a bit of batter into the oil, the batter should come up, but not change color right away.

Stage 3

Dip each broccoli floret in the prepared batter and drop 7-8 florets at a time into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown from all sides. Place on a dish lined with kitchen towel.

Stage 4

Repeat the same process for the remaining broccoli florets.

Stage 5

Sprinkle some chaat masala on the broccoli bhajiya and serve hot.
