Nutty hot chocolate

This is exactly the kind of thing I want gracing my new Christmas mug!
GO VEGAN: Check your chocolate packaging to make sure there are no dairy ingredients.

Ingredients

  • handful of blanched hazelnuts or almonds (or both)
  • 70g dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 2 mugs of almond or hazelnut milk
  • 1 tbsp caster sugar
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • seeds from a small vanilla pod

Method

Stage 1

Toast the nuts in a dry frying pan, until they just start to brown.

Stage 2

Blitz the toasted nuts, sugar, chocolate and cinnamon in a small food processor or spice grinder, until you've made a smooth paste.

Stage 3

Warm the nut milk in a pan and add the nutty chocolate paste and the seeds from the vanilla pod. Whisk together until the milk starts to boil. Transfer into mugs and drink straight away.
