Summer is in full swing now, with garden furniture dusted off and barbecues primed and ready to go. With this in mind, we've gone with a gorgeous 'green' burger on our cover this month, and we have more stunning recipes created by plant-based burger expert Martin Nordin inside.
The festival season is underway too, and we meet some of the street-food pioneers who have made their name on the circuit (page 50). Even if you're not planning to spend a night under canvas, street-food dishes are perfect for alfresco eating – and the Sarno brothers behind the Wicked Healthy brand have cooked up some fantastic Asian-inspired vegan dishes, from DIY Buddha bowls to authentic Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches that are great for feeding a crowd too (page 54).
We all know the Mediterranean diet is good for you, so even if you won't be feasting in a real Greek taverna or Italian trattoria this summer, you can at least recreate the flavours in your own kitchen with our holiday-inspired dishes (page 44), or why not try eco-chef Tom Hunt's vibrant bruschetta and chaat recipes made with seasonal market produce (page 26).
If you're secretly convinced you have a sugar addiction, we find out if it's really possible to get hooked on the sweet stuff (page 82) and enjoy deliciously sugar-free baking from chef Sophie Michell (page 84), while Annie Bell shares her low-carb recipes (page 88) for a lighter, healthier way to eat this summer.
