The recent Guild of Food Writers 2015 Awards recognised a whole host of top restaurant reviewers, cookery writers and food bloggers – including Vegetarian Living's very own food writer Sarah Beattie. Sarah was previously shortlisted in 2013 for her work in VL and has now celebrated a second shortlisting for the same award of Cookery Journalist of the Year.
Although the title ended up going to Diana Henry for her work in The Sunday Telegraph's Stella magazine, the jurors who considered the three contenders from a total of 18 nominees had plenty of praise for Sarah's pages in Vegetarian Living. 'To reach shortlist stage in the Guild of Food Writers Awards is a tremendous accolade,' says awards coordinator and vice-chair Jane Gifford. 'Sarah – and Vegetarian Living magazine – should feel justifiably and extraordinarily proud.'
The awards were presented by the Guild's president Xanthe Clay, with Rick Stein scooping the coveted Lifetime Achievement award.
